Just another day in Paradise

It’s almost nine pm.  It’s a beautiful night, with a cool breeze blowing.  Samba music can be heard through the balcony doors from the show being performed below.  The day was spent on a lounge chair, reading a book and listening to the waves crash against the rocks.  Mojitos and water were served to me all day long. We are in Cozumel, Mexico.

We haven’t been able to afford a nice vacation since buying the beach house.  All of our vacations have been spent there.  This is our second time here and we love it.  The island is so pretty, and very laid back.  There is no hustle and bustle here like there is in Cancun.  And, the resort is awesome.

We’re staying at the Cozumel Palace.  It’s a smallish all inclusive resort.  The staff is so friendly and helpful you can’t help but feel at home.  The room is lovely, with a big king size bed, a living room area, a nice bathroom and a jacuzzi tub built for two.  There is an infinity pool.  There is a regular pool with a swim-up bar.  There is a kiddie pool.  Since the resort is on the rocky size of the island, there is no beach, but on either side of the pool area are big areas of sand, complete with tiki huts and loungers.

This place has four different restaurants, Italian, Oriental, an outdoor grill, and the one we frequent, a Mexican restaurant.  The food is divine.  The drinks are endless.  There is even a mini bar in the room and 24 hour room service.

They have a salon/spa, a gift shop that seems to sell everything, and a scuba shop. There are activities all day long, every night offers a different type show. For us,we mostly sit facing the water, reading or watching the sailboats, ferries, and cruise ships pass by. We watch the shows from our balcony. As long time premier members, we always get the upgraded rooms, top floor (5) center where we can see all the action below, but we can’t hear it unless we’re on the balcony. Far enough from the elevators to not hear them.

I’m looking forward to a peaceful first half of the week. Come Thursday, our Texas dive team arrives and all bets for relaxation are off. They’re a rowdy bunch!

But for now, I’ll just get this posted. On Monday morning, because forgot to hit post last night. Can you blame me? After all I’m in paradise.
