… but I’m back now, at least for today, but I make no promises. The last several weeks have been very busy for me. It’s also been an emotional roller coaster.
I never realized how many people look forward to reading my blog until I took a break from posting. It all started in Cozumel, when my BFF mentioned that she reads every post. Since we don’t talk on the phone much and mostly keep in touch via email, I was surprised. She rarely commented on my blog so I didn’t know she read them all. She says it’s a great way to keep up with what is going on in my life.
It hit again at a party we went to last Thursday. I saw a lot of people I knew from a previous job and had a great time catching up with everyone. My friend Rick starting talking about some of the things I’ve mentioned in posts. He said he loved reading them. We talked about the beach and house I’m always writing about and our long-term plans for retiring there. It was so fun talking to him about it because he knew how I felt about it all.
This past weekend, we flew down to Florida to visit our new great-nephew. That’s another story in and of itself. While we were there, my nephew really ragged on me about how I haven’t updated my blog in so long. He just hits reload and reload and reload, and nothing ever happens! Now, I can take a lot of crap and Jeremey sure can dish it out. I finally relented and promised to try to post more often.
Then, two days ago, I got an email from my BFF Vicki, who wanted to know why I haven’t blogged since Cozumel. I caved to the pressure! I still have a lot inside me to write and share. I’m feeling better since the weekend. I was able to spend a lot of time talking with my niece, my nephew’s wife, who is wonderful to talk to. Being able to cuddle and play with Caleb, who is 7 weeks old, was such a joy.
So, I’m going to make an effort to write more often. Thanks for hanging in there!

Great to hear from you. I was just thinking that I can feel all of my blogging buddies drifting away. It’s sort of like we all spent a year together away at school and after we graduated we don’t keep in touch as often. I’m as guilty as anyone because I think I am down to about twice a month.
It does kind of feel that way, like our blogging buddies are drifting away. I don’t think I subscribe to anyone that blogs on a daily basis anymore. It makes the posts they do write seem a little more special.
We have been blogging buddies a long time and I also felt sad. Hope you do continue to post on a semi regular basis so I can keep uptodate with the beach house, your job etc…
