Every few months, a new idea for posts spreads like wildfire around the WordPress blogosphere. The most recent one I’ve been tagged to take part in is ‘My Personal A ~ Z’. It started as a Portugal based series and has now gone world-wide.
I was tagged by two bloggers that read my blog that I’ve not interacted with, Sami @ sami’s colourfulworld and Dave & Aly @ Algarve Blog. Thank you both for tagging me!
The idea is to do a post using each letter of the alphabet as the basis for something about the place you have chosen. Some bloggers are doing things they care about, or things that relate to their life in that place. I have chosen to do the latter.
Everyone seems to be doing the A ~ Z of their country, but I thought I would do the A ~ Z of my favorite place to be – Avon! Avon, North Carolina to be exact. Those of you who are my regular readers find no surprise in this choice.
It seems a rather fun thing to do. You can learn more about me and more about why I find this place so perfect, or not so perfect as the case may sometimes be. It will force me to take a closer look at Avon and it’s appeal. It will give me a guaranteed topic for 26 posts. And, it fits in well with my overall blog theme.
I’m not sure I’ll post one every day, or even one right after the other. It depends on if I want to include photos, and I can only take those when we’re at the beach. Maybe I’ll do them out-of-order, or backwards! I have to think about it more.
When I first received the email from Sami about the idea, I didn’t give it much thought. Then, I started seeing a few of the A ~ Z blog posts and found them interesting. When I got a comment on one of my posts about the A ~ Z, I thought why not?

Pardon my ignorance but I had to read quite a few of your blogs to work out where you are! I guessed States, but the island had me unsure. Of course, if you start in the middle of a story what else can you expect? Better late than never- pleased to meet you.
